Retirement Program: At the present time, we are covered by PERS (Public Employees Retirement System). Approximately 8.5% of the resident's salary is contributed to PERS. If you remain in the program until retirement, the hospital will match an additional 13.5%. However, if you terminate prior to retirement, upon request, your contributions will be refunded.

Worker's Compensation: Provides medical expense coverage for on-the-job injuries, and weekly benefits if not eligible to receive full sick pay from the hospital.

The Self-Insurance Program provides occurrence coverage for residents while acting within the scope of their duties and employment. The limit of the Self-Insurance Program is $1 million per occurrence. MetroHealth Medical Center also purchases excess insurance, which would respond should a claim exceed $1 million. This is an occurrence-form of coverage.
