Kenneth Thorpe, PhD, Gives Murphy Lecture in Health Care Economics and Policy at the Cleveland City Club on Friday, November 5th

Professor Thorpe`s talk, entitled ÒCost Containment and Health Improvement in the Era of Health Care ReformÓ (podcast), described evidence-based approaches to preventing and managing chronic diseases that are supported by the recently passed health care reform legislation. In Thursday, November 4th, Professor Thorpe also spoke on health care reform to students and faculty at the CWRU Weatherhead School of Management. Dr. Thorpe, the Robert W. Woodruff Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management at Emory University, is a past Deputy Assistant Director for Health Policy of HHS (1993-95), Executive Director of the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease, and frequently testifies before committees of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
